Williams Provides Cover Story for (Sept 2006) BodyShop Business Magazine

WHEELERSBURG, OH - An article of David Williams, founder of www.SafeCollisionRepairs.com was recently featured in the September 2006 issue of BodyShop Business (BSB).  The magazine, a monthly production of Babcox Publications, LLC gave cover space to Williams’ writing which provided insight to body shop owners on how they might protect their businesses from diminished value (DV) claims and litigation.

In the article titled, “Nine Steps to Protect Your Shop From DV Claims,”  Williams related that poor quality work is the major cause for the sleepless nights that many shop owners face.  Says Williams, “Shop owners fear the horde of botched repairs that they know are out there that could come back to bite them at any moment.”

During DV inspections that he’s been performing for the last decade, Williams reveals that he’s only viewed two repaired cars of noteworthy quality.  Most post-repair inspectors across the country agree that slothful repairs are commonplace and only about one inspection in one hundred nets a car that’s repaired as well as it could be repaired.  The average amount of DV calculated is only a few cents shy of $7,000 per car – an amount significant enough to get the blood of most attorneys pumping.

“This is really a must-read for body shops,” says Williams, “because DV is real and it’s not going away anytime soon regardless what the insurance industry spin wizards have to say."  Williams implores shops to be honest with consumers and only perform repairs that inspire confidence by following recommendations of auto manufacturers.

Williams will be writing two additional articles in the coming year for BodyShop Business that will run in late Summer or early Fall issues.
